What a Cheek Refinement Actually Does

Compensating for bone loss at the cheekbone gives the tissue layers back their original support and gently counteracts the development of jowls. The agents we use settle into the skin structure without leaving a palpable edge, so the result stays completely natural even when smiling. Won't enhanced cheeks look unnatural?

Not if done correctly. I place the hyaluronic acid deep on the bone where it provides structure and does not wobble. The result looks like your own cheeks - just fuller.

Do fuller cheeks help with nasolabial folds?

Yes, indirectly. When the cheeks are lifted, the skin is also pulled upward and the nasolabial folds become flatter. Sometimes cheek enhancement alone is enough to noticeably improve the folds.

How much hyaluronic acid is needed for cheeks?

For a subtle effect, often 1ml per side; for more noticeable change, 2-3ml per side. I recommend building up gradually.

Is the treatment painful?

With local anesthesia and cannula technique, the treatment is tolerable. Because I work deep, there is also less swelling and bruising than with superficial injections.

Can cheeks and jawline be combined?
