What is Cheek Augmentation?
In cheek augmentation, I place hyaluronic acid deep on the cheekbone — with a fine needle or cannula. There it gives the mid-face structure and repositions the tissue upward: this creates volume and a natural lifting effect, without surgery. I treat mid-face, jaw and chin as one unit so that your profile looks harmonious.
Over the years, bone substance and the deep fat compartments on the cheekbone decline, and the face looks tired and flatter. Hyaluronic acid restores this lost volume, subtle or pronounced as you wish. The underlying cause lies higher up: as the cheekbones flatten over the years and collagen declines, the midface loses volume and support. To address the cause as well, this can be combined with biostimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra, which stimulate the body's own collagen production.

Does cheek augmentation look natural?
When the hyaluronic acid is placed deep and directly on the cheekbone, yes. There it gives the mid-face structure rather than superficial volume — nothing wobbles, nothing looks overfilled. I prefer to build up gradually rather than do too much at once.
Why do you use the cannula?
For deep augmentation on the cheekbone I prefer to work with the cannula. Its blunt tip pushes the tissue aside rather than piercing it — which usually means less swelling and fewer bruises than with the needle.
Can cheek augmentation be combined with the jawline?
Often it makes sense: volume on the cheeks and a defined jawline complement each other into a harmonious profile. Since the face forms a unit, I plan the mid-face and lower face as a unit too.
How long does the result last?
Usually 12 to 18 months. After that, the body slowly breaks down the hyaluronic acid — a touch-up maintains the result. You see first results directly after the treatment.
Does cheek augmentation also lift the nasolabial fold?
Indirectly, often yes. When the mid-face is supported again at the cheekbone, the skin is drawn upward — the nasolabial fold can appear less deep as a result. Whether that is enough in your case or an additional treatment makes sense, we look at in the consultation.
