Profhilo Structura is not "Profhilo 2.0." It is a distinct concept from the same product family — with a completely different goal. While classic Profhilo stimulates skin quality at the cellular level, Structura addresses a deeper layer: the fat compartments and structural support of the mid-face region.

What Structura actually does

The mid-face carries central perceptual cues: cheek height, transition to the jawline, supportive function for the lower face. When fat compartments soften here — typically from age 40+ — the face appears tired, even with otherwise good skin quality. Structura targets exactly this structural level. The product is placed deep, integrates into tissue over 2–4 weeks, and stabilises the structures that hold the mid-face.

The result is not classical volume filling. It is bioremodeling of existing structures — firmer and deeper-acting than classic Profhilo, but without the point-specific buildup of a filler.

HMW + LMW: what the combination achieves

Structura combines high-molecular (HMW) and low-molecular (LMW) hyaluronic acid in a stabilised complex. The high-molecular fraction provides structural stability; the low-molecular fraction addresses the tissue micro-environment. The result is a different material profile than classic Profhilo: firmer, with deeper action. More on the principle in the biostimulators comparison.

When is Structura indicated?

In practice, Structura is most useful from age 40+. That's when mid-face fat compartments begin to lose volume and firmness — structural changes that pure skin treatments cannot address. Younger patients usually benefit more from classic Profhilo or skinbooster treatments.

What Structura is not

Structura does not replace classic cheek augmentation with cross-linked hyaluronic acid when significant volume is the goal. It is the choice for patients seeking structural support — without the classic filler look. For more on volume loss and its alternatives: Volume loss and jowls — what helps.

Procedure in practice

  • Mid-face analysis: assessment of fat compartments, skin quality, individual anatomy
  • Injection session 1: deep placement in the structural layers of the cheeks
  • Distribution phase: 2–4 weeks for product integration into tissue
  • Session 2 after 4 weeks: completion of protocol for stable result
  • Follow-up after 8–12 weeks: progress assessment, potential recommendation for additional building blocks

The effect sets in after 4–8 weeks; the effect window lasts up to six months. With repeated application at six-month intervals, structural support builds up.

Evidence base

The scientific basis for Structura is limited but consistent. Two key references:

Combination with other treatments

Common combinations include classic Profhilo for skin quality and targeted hyaluronic acid treatment for cheeks or jawline for volume. Polynucleotides also complement the approach. The sequence depends on the individual skin profile — for structural need, Structura first, then surface treatments.

My takeaway

Structura is not a miracle product, nor a filler substitute. It is a targeted tool for one specific indication: declining mid-face structure from age 40+. Patients seeking complete volume buildup are better served with classic hyaluronic acid. Patients who want to restore their own structural support — without it being noticeable — should look at the product. In the consultation we examine your anatomy and decide together whether Structura or a different treatment makes more sense.
