Juvelook is a hybrid biostimulator combining poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The combination delivers two effects in one injection: non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid provides immediate hydration, freshness, and a light smoothing effect — unlike crosslinked hyaluronic acid fillers, it does not change facial shape. PDLLA microparticles stimulate the body's own collagen production over several weeks. This sets Juvelook apart from Sculptra: Sculptra consists solely of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) with no hyaluronic acid component and is typically injected into deeper volume zones such as cheeks or temples. Juvelook's finer particle structure and HA component have been described in published case reports and small case series for thin-skinned, sensitive areas such as the tear trough or neck. Important to know: these are case reports and case series with limited participant numbers, not randomized controlled trials. The Treatment Process

Consultation: Analysis of the target area and assessment of whether Juvelook is suitable for your skin.

Preparation: The powder is reconstituted with sterile saline solution.

Anesthesia: Numbing cream, with additional local anesthesia for sensitive areas if needed.

The Juvelook Principle
Juvelook triggers two processes at once: non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid hydrates the tissue immediately, giving skin a fresher, smoother appearance — without changing its shape, the way crosslinked hyaluronic acid fillers do. In parallel, PDLLA microparticles (10–40 μm) stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen over several weeks. This dual action — immediate and delayed in a single injection — sets Juvelook apart from pure PLLA products like Sculptra, which deliver only the delayed collagen effect.
Zones Other Biostimulators Avoid
The eye area is considered delicate for classic biostimulators — thin skin there increases the risk of nodule formation, a known class risk of lactic-acid-based products. A case report published in 2025 [1] documents the use of Juvelook via cannula technique in the tear trough with no reported complications — in a single patient with 18 days of follow-up, which does not yet allow a reliable statement about rare, delayed-onset reactions. A larger case series is available for the neck (32 patients, 6-month follow-up) [4] — there in combination with a CO₂-assisted subcision technique, not as a standalone injection. A smaller case series [2] also describes use in the zygomatic cheek region with the more concentrated product variant Juvelook Volume. For sensitive areas, the literature describes the cannula technique, rather than a sharp needle, as an additional safety factor.
Possible Side Effects and Safety Information
In the case series published to date, Juvelook was well tolerated: the most commonly reported effects were transient bruising (around 12% of patients in one case series) [2] and mild swelling [3] that resolved within a few days. As with any injection, redness and tenderness at the injection sites are possible. For the rarer, delayed-onset nodule formation — a known class risk of lactic-acid-based biostimulators — there is not yet sufficient large-scale or long-term data on Juvelook specifically to reliably assess the risk.
Not suitable in cases of acute skin infection in the treatment area, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in case of known hypersensitivity to an ingredient, or with active autoimmune conditions of unclear activity — we assess this individually.
What the Evidence Shows — and What It Doesn't
The evidence on Juvelook to date consists of case reports and small case series (1 to 32 participants per study) [1–4], not randomized controlled trials. Results are promising but preliminary — individual results may vary, and robust data beyond the longest published follow-up of 6 months [4] is still pending.
