Dark circles and hollow tear troughs are rarely a cosmetic problem alone — they reflect the biological depletion of fat tissue beneath the eye and the bony orbit. A tired gaze is often merely a false shadow cast by tissue atrophy. At minimal med, we correct this shadow where it anatomically originates — with ultra-light, hyaluronic acid that doesn't attract water (won't swell) and gently integrates into the delicate tissue. Particularly in combination with polynucleotides, the skin quality around the eye area can be sustainably improved.

Your Benefits

  • Shadow correction through targeted volume restoration
  • Ultra-light hyaluronic acid for minimal swelling risk
  • Gentle transition from lower lid to cheek
  • Atraumatic cannula technique for minimal tissue stress
  • Natural result without Tyndall effect (bluish shimmer that can occur when hyaluronic acid is placed too superficially in thin skin)
  • Subtle light correction for a refreshed, alert appearance

How the Treatment Works

1

Consultation: Analysis of the eye area — not everyone is suitable for this treatment, which I carefully assess.

2

Preparation: Numbing cream for maximum comfort.

3

Precise injection: Using a fine cannula, the hyaluronic acid is carefully placed under the skin.

4

Review: I check the result and make adjustments if needed.

5

Aftercare: Cooling pads and care instructions for the first few days.

Anatomy of Shadow

Why the tear trough deepens with age: orbital expansion, fat pad atrophy, skin thinning. The shadow as optical illusion: often the skin isn't darker — the tissue beneath is simply missing. The connection with cheek volume and the midface.

Precision as Imperative

This region tolerates no imprecision. Cannula technique, micro-dosing, material selection (ultra-light, hyaluronic acid that doesn't attract water or swell). Why excess here is immediately noticeable, and why restraint is the hallmark of quality.

Many Paths to the Goal

A region that calls for a variety of approaches! Which one is best for you? We're happy to discuss this together in your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is tear trough treatment risky?

The eye area is demanding and requires extensive experience. I exclusively use special, soft hyaluronic acid and work with a cannula instead of a needle — this minimizes the risk of bruising and ensures a natural result.

Will I get eye bags from this?

Not with correct technique. It's important that the product is placed deep enough and in the right amount. Overfilling can lead to swelling — that's why I prefer to be conservative and add more if needed.

Does the treatment help with all types of dark circles?

Filler alone is not always enough. I often combine tear trough treatment with polynucleotides and plasma therapy — polynucleotides improve skin thickness, plasma delivers your body's own growth factors. This improves the skin itself, not just the volume. For dark circles caused by pigmentation, other approaches are more suitable — we discuss this during the consultation.

How long will I be swollen after the treatment?

Light swelling is normal and subsides within 2-5 days. Bruising is rare but can occur and fades after 7-10 days. Don't schedule important events directly after the treatment.

Can the hyaluronic acid be dissolved?

Yes, this is one of the great advantages of hyaluronic acid. If the result isn't as desired, the material can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.

What does tear trough treatment cost?

The treatment starts from 299 EUR for both sides. The exact cost depends on the amount needed and will be discussed during the consultation.
